GP Standings 2009 - Final

The final events of the GP 2009 were run in fine autumn sunshine at the Strathcarron 10k and the Loch Ness Marathon. At the shorter event, some dodgy distance  markers caused confusion with timing over the last  two kilometers. In the North, 6 club members faced the full marathon 26.2 over a testing, undulating course.  However the best was aaved for the last with blistering times being run by Stevie and Joanna to claim the fastest male and female marathon times of the year, Stevie stopped the clock just under 2 hours and 54 minutes in 02:23:59 and Joanna ran a massive PB after a year of steady improvement over the distance to finish in 03:26:50.

The final positions of the 2009 GP show, for the Mens' competition, Bob in first place with 43 points, Ian Mcfarlane in second with 42 and Alasdair McNair in third with 32.  Fastest  marathoner was Stevie Keenan

The Womens' competition was won by Beryl with 46 points, second was Lynne with 24 and third, by virtue of completing more events, Liz with 17 points. Fastest marathoner was Joanna Reid.

Prizegiving will be at the Club Christmas party.
